For example, encyclopedias in the book format are practically obsolete. The information found there is usually brief and outdated and it sucks that you couldn’t borrow it. It is much easier and quicker just to Google or wiki something. I know the books in my university have been practically untouched for years and finding the right book for a research paper is like finding a needle in a haystack.

It is easy to say the the education system needs to be rebuilt top down but I understand it is an almost an impossible undertaking but reading stories like this time after time is just ridiculous.

This brings up a similar problem where too many (job recruiters/ college admission officers) rely on stats too much to sift through applicants, making it almost necessary to manipulate/ inflate stats to make the cut.
